We’re living through a recession, and most of us can’t afford the traditional luxuries like vacation homes or expensive cars. We can, however, find the highest quality versions of things we use and look at every day. Whether it’s a beautiful design or maybe just tastes good or feels good in the hand, there are some things we just don’t need to live without.
What we can try to live without are things mass-produced overseas by underpaid workers in hazardous working conditions. We can try to live without things that are designed to be made obsolete by the inevitable second generation product already on the drawing board to replace it. We can try to live without things that are designed to end up thrown away to clog landfills through eternity.
An Affordable Luxury is something that does its job especially well, and that ordinary people can buy and keep for a lifetime.
