It’s true that making good hot chocolate can be a little too much work, and skilled work at that. If you are using luxurious hot chocolate like the MarieBelle Aztec from my previous post, you really have to stir to make sure the little bits of chocolate melt and get thoroughly mixed into the milk. Then there’s the problem of making sure the milk gets hot enough, but doesn’t reach the boiling point: almost but not quite. The technological solution to these problems is the Mr. Coffee Cocomotion Hot Chocolate Maker. I never even knew there was such a machine, but once I tried it, I knew devoting a little counter space to it was a must during cold weather. Add the chocolate, pour in the milk, turn it on and you’re done. It does all the heating and mixing and keeps stirring the perfectly smooth hot chocolate until you are ready to pour some into a mug. Easy to clean; just put in some soapy water, run it for a few seconds, then rinse. It more or less washes itself.
